Rock On Baby Jesus!

"Rock on Baby Jesus"

"Can anyone tell me what Christmas is all about?!?…"

Luke 2: 9-20

An angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for see-I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger." And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host, parsing God and saying,
"Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!"
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place which the Lord has made known to us." So they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about this child; and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This is probably my last post of 2010! And getting ready for a fantastic 2011 full of new posts! YEAH! So until then keep on Truckin' for Jesus!

(Will be painted sometime in the near future.)

Here is the original sorry about that I must have gotten sidetracked with something else?

Photoshopped the birds outta there! Clothes line and clothes poof! And changed the background color to a more wintery wonderland. Enjoy!

Burning

IF Burning

Sketch with digital color. Went for a watercolory look, since that's what I normally work in but using PS.

A little, very simple animation of my sketch being "burned" (I brought you into this world and I can take you out!)

My goal is to slowly but surely move into animating my illustrations. Some sketches some finished watercolors. So starting small and getting more complex as time goes on and I get more comfortable with the medium. I see myself working a more traditional style of animation. Hands on, I need that! The computer is nice but I need to step away from it every now and then plus the computer tries to imitate watercolor and other traditional mediums but just isn't the same as the real thing.

I'm doing this because as many know print is slowly dying and technology is taking over! da da da! And it's just not going away...Although I'm saddened by this I've got to come to terms that this is reality. Gotta make those illustrations move! Thought it might be a good idea to teach myself how to animate but still keep my style in tact. Animated watercolors could be very neat and fluid. Definitely a learning process and will take some time but I'm quite excited to see my illustrations come alive. Hope you are too! Stick around for more! Enjoy!

An example of illustrated watercolors might be the Red Bull commercials.

Simple, but extremely effective.

Unsure of where this could go, but determined to find out!

Transportation

Doesn't matter how much horse power you got, or how fast your going over the speed limit. As long as your imagination is moving at 100 miles a minute...I wish I could say the same about my hands.
The final sketch.

Illustration Friday First Entry-Topic Acrobat

My very first entry on Illustration Friday this weeks topic was acrobat. Done very quickly...and I included kids...ugh. The worst combination for me. I'm working on getting better at drawing kids but not very satisfied on how I go about it quite yet. Still learning and will continue to do so. To make this process go faster I will no longer prolong my "fear" of drawing kids and will use Illustration Friday as a creative outlet to where I can explore/practice drawing kids whatever the topic is. It'll be fun...I hope.

The Sketchbook Project: 2011 » Art House Co-op | We build art projects and communities

The Sketchbook Project: 2011 » Art House Co-op | We build art projects and communities

I enjoy concepts like pasting a sketchbook around to many people and it all becomes one unified thing, and if fills up quite fast. This sketch project has many different themes and I want to give it a go. Something different, new and exciting. I picked "Revenge" unsure what I want to draw yet, but I'll let you know, and take a shot of it before I send it off! But check it out!

Shark...Temporary Put on Hold.

Shark personal project has been put on hold. Gotta finish a job first!

Bear Scribbles

Loosening up my drawings helps me relax first and foremost. I'm currently working on a project with a mama bear reading a bedtime story to her little bears for a daycare in Brooklyn...Selling my first original!!! But right now I'm at the sketch stage right now, finishing touches and transferring the sketch to the watercolor paper is the task ahead. The painting is about 2 feet by 3 feet. Just about. The size even before I put a paint brush to it scares the living daylights out of me. But it'll be a good for me...right? Anyways having trouble with one of the bears face and so I took a second to do these little drawings. Did they help? Maybe a little but you never know what you can find in this little chicken scratches.

Day 1-Pratt Show-Set Up

Mmmmm...
Just got there and took a picture of my blank wall.
This is my wall for the Pratt Show all set up and ready to go!
My wall...again.

Thought the ceiling at the Manhattan Center was pretty cool! And going to be taking many many more pictures this week so stick around! (Not necessarily of the ceiling.)
